My reluctance to do any work over the weekend sometimes makes me feel like people are judging me; they think I’m not as committed to my business or that I don’t work hard enough (bullsh*t). But the reality is that if I don’t use my weekend to relax, I’d eventually burn out and that has a more detrimental impact to my business and my mental health (I mean, hands up if you’ve already been there once before 🙋🏼♀️). Of course, there are some weekends where I’ll spend time working on things, but they’re few and far between. I love my family and friends and spending time with them is what keeps me happy. I plan my Monday-Friday meticulously, I diarise everything and have spent time putting in place processes that make my work day more efficient. Because, let’s be honest, I’d rather me drinking good coffee with my man on a Saturday morning, than entering till receipts into excel!
Are you a weekend worker? Do you allow yourself enough down-time?
