My summer has already brought about a big adventure, a new experience with new possibilities for the next school year--and hopefully many, many more to come: as of this past Thursday, I am the new WOHS choir director! Teaching and directing at the high school level has always been my career aspiration, so this is very exciting and very happy for me! I could not be more thrilled that my dream is now a reality right here in West Ottawa, a place that I call ‘home’ with students, families, and staff that I consider as family.
And while I celebrate this new beginning, I recognize that this is also an ending--and endings can be sad. HL Choir kids and Choir families: remember that this program, the choirs that you or your student(s) are a part of, exists because of YOU--because of your dedication, your talents, your passion, and your support & love for music and music education. WOMS choir and theater students: you were a JOY to teach and to make music and magic with these past years! I hope that each and every one of you will continue to contribute to the success of and to the environment of love, support, and inclusivity that is so vital to making music and magic with others.
Sometimes endings are sad, but this one is not and does not have to be! I will see you all on stage, in the audience AND for 4 more years of choir in high school!
WOHS choir students: this is going to be the best!! I cannot wait to make music and get to know each and every one of you as you are now (and as you will be!) #newbeginnings #untilwemeetagainmyfriends #wohs #wearewo #choirfamily
