Sorry for the long post, BUT....this is important.

Sometimes I wonder why I workout as hard as I do. Is it only to compete, the aesthetics or is it something larger. After all, there are plenty of other priorities that need my time and attention - the list is long.

Let me be clear - I am NOT motivated every single day. I'm not. I'm human, just like you. Life gets complicated. Competing priorities. Travel for work. Kids activities. You name it...I would bet the same May hold true for you [ Keep reading]

Regardless, at times, my mind says "hey, you looked great before. So just chill. Take it down a notch." I'm intense, but I too, need balance.

But, the progress I've made, I'm not willing to give up. The inspiration I provide to my girls, my husband and many of you, I'm not willing to quit. I LOVE that! And my body - not gonna sugar coat this... looks f'ing amazing. And I'm proud of that. So I keep going.

So in these moments, I take myself back to why I started: To spend time with myself and take great care of myself. To find balance. By not doing so, I let people down. I'm not my best - mentally, emotionally and physically.

I need a release or escape. And I find mine, at the gym. G'nite ❤✌🏼

15 pound #reversedieting #transformation 164 lbs vs 179 lbs. Left was 5/2/17 in Miami (no flexing). Right was Friday morning. I primarily put on 5-7 lbs cause females were telling me I was too thin. Then winter came and I kept going for #bulkingseason and gained even more once I committed to competing at 83kg (183lbs top limit). At the moment, I can careless I lost my #flatabs & #sixpack. I'm way stronger in absolute and strength / bodyweight ratios now. And I got more muscle mass everywhere without breaking the bank (stomach). The only time I truly care about looks is the 3 months of summer. The rest all I care about is making PRs and heavier weights move without getting fat.

In related news: I hit over 180 lbs yesterday for the first time since ~2013. This is uncharted territory for me and raising a lot of fears of who I used to be. Therefore, I'm going to start cutting season in March rather than April with the intent of slowly reducing bodyweight over months. This will help limit potential muscle loss and allow new strength gains to somewhat offset fat loss. Goal for summer is to look ripped like before but at 172 lbs, with more muscle mass. Hopefully then they won't tell me I'm too thin. I'm like a pro at cutting so this gonna be a piece if cake 😂
