💇 It finally happened! I cut off nine inches of hair to donate to Pantene Beautiful Lengths, which provides free wigs for women fighting cancer. I have had long hair for about eight years. Deciding to cut my hair brought up all sorts of questions surrounding beauty, femininity, identity aka who am I without long hair? I love my new short hair and all the opportunities it provides to define the person I am now. I am also glad to have 30 minutes of my life back in the mornings with the reduced shampoo and drying time. 🙌🏾 #shorthairdontcare #donate #blackhair #woc #woman #hairstyles #haircut #changeitup #embracechange #straighthair #cortedepelo #cabello #cabellocorto #noregrets

Every pathetic, bigoted, racist, wannabe-dictator has a willing, able, and equally pathetic, bigoted, and racist sidekick. Hitler had his Goebbels; Trump has his Kelly. This #MemorialDay #weekend, it’s sad to reflect that our grandparents, sisters, brothers, sons, daughters, cousins, friends, aunts, uncles, fathers and mothers died so that these two could install themselves in our White House. A Trump government is an anti-American government. The only way to honor the fallen is to reclaim our country and uphold it to the values our loved ones gave their lives fighting for. Text P2P to RTVOTE (788-683) today to register to #votedemocrat this fall and stop evil ✌🏽 (🎨: by LANYC, with images sourced via Google) #bluewave #powertothepolls #resist #art #streetart #collage #curatedbyLANYC

This Summer, our co-organizer and co-facilitator, Black Venus, is pleased to announce that they will be relocating to Chicago to continue pursuing their career in the performing arts. As some of you who have attended Queens Talk in the past and have familiarized yourselves and gotten to know Black Venus, you were present to experience them as a creator and host of this safe space. They have been directly involved with the organizing and hosting of Queens Talk and we are happy to see them pursue their career and also sad to see them go but we are hoping to send them off with the utmost love and support from our attendees and community. We will be collecting donations at tomorrow's Queens Talk as they will also be co-organizing and co-facilitating with us one last time before they go. Our presenter is very excited to share space with you all! We will be having Consuela Greene who is a nationally renowned trainer and speaker with an illustrative combination of experiences, knowledge, and skills as a facilitative leader, activist, capacity builder, and researcher with an unwavering commitment to social justice.

Be a leader! 🐼🌱 “You must see with eyes unclouded by hate. See the good in that which is evil, and the evil in that which is good. Pledge yourself to neither side, but vow instead to preserve the balance that exists between the two” -Hayao Miyazaki .
