Domain Hudelot Chambolle Musigny 1er cru 2011
When I saw this label I had to do a double take. Steely move to deviate from the "template" of Burgundy wine! I guess quality gives you a little leeway with the rules 😂.
This was good but not great. Because it's young there it is a bit agressive but show potential. Very floral and ripe on the nose as a Chambolle should be. Although the tannins were mostly resolved, the palate was firm and a little too acidic for me. However, cellar time should help it calm down. The finish was tart with very ripe plum but it lacked the balance that I really love about Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru.
Give it 5 years and this'll be a winner but it's not there yet.
