Lynch Bages is one of those icons from Pauillac. Especially 1989 was one of the best vintages we have ever seen from this Chateau.
After decanting it for 2 hours, the wine unleashes an incredible nose. There are hints of blackberries, cedar, smoky bacon and pencil shavings. You'll find those earthy, muddy notes which I love in older Bordeaux. It is full bodied with great concentration. The tannins are fully integrated, leaving a subtle sweetness at the long finish.
This is a beautiful classic claret!
