CHAMPAGNE BRUT VINTAGE - 2008 - VEUVE CLICQUOT PONSARDIN. WHY WE LIKE IT: Barbe Nicole Ponsardin, widow only twenty-seven, after the death of her husband firmly launches the reins company, becoming in fact one of the first great women entrepreneurs of modern history, known by all with the nickname " widow Clicquot ", or" Veuve Clicquot ", hence the name of the Maison. Under the guidance of the young widow, some insights were gained that helped the whole denomination. From the first vintage Champagne, that of 1810, until the improvement of the technique of remuage, passing through the fine-tuning of the liqueur de tirage useful for the second refermentation in the bottle, there is no aspect that she did not follow personally. In the Champagne, the term "vintage" refers to vintage wines, produced by assembling grapes harvested in the same vintage. Usually, the production of "vintage" occurs when the season is an exception and when quality levels are higher than the standards. This is what happened in 2008, when Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin produced this Champagne Brut Vintage. With grapes that come exclusively from grand cru and premier cru, it is simply dazzling in its organoleptic richness. Delicious. Tasting Notes: From the elegance of the perlage, fine and persistent, we pass to the harmonious grace of the olfactory bouquet, composed of floral scents, fruity notes of pear, aromas of almonds, biscuits and yeasts. Silky and generous to taste, it is rich in minerality and deliciously spicy. Long and powerful in the final. Ideal to accompany the seafood cuisine. Good with tagliatelle with crab meat.
