This past summer in Southeast Alaska was unusually dry, sunny, and hot. The region is a temperate rainforest so a drier summer has a dramatic impact— one of the most visible changes was the waterfalls. This fall still looked beautiful, but some of my favorites were barely a trickle.
It has been raining like crazy our entire time in Portugal- the amount and intensity of the rain is unusual. But last year this area was severely damaged by wildfires... a good dose of perspective that the weather we’ve been dealing with on our vacation is nothing to complain about.
