I want to see the sights unseen, I want the extraordinary..... Our kids have learned so much in our week and a half of travel. We drove through different states, learned about extreme weather, visited museums, met new people, talked about poverty and saw the world through different eyes. A huge part of me (the free spirited side) wishes I could homeschool my babes and travel the world 🌎 #dogobe
Hi, my name is Marissa and I’m the lady behind all of these pictures! 😊️🙃 I thought of four facts to share about me: 1. I live in the Midwest and so naturally I talk a lot about the weather 2. I am a mama to three girls and work from home 3. I used to teach middle school science and loved it! 4. Dark chocolate and black coffee are my favorite—boring, I know! 💜
Tough week? We've all been there...and we've all managed to find a way out. • Sometimes all you need is a single voice in your ear cheering you on. Consider this my virtual hug and word of encouragement to get back up again stronger than you were before.
Last day of term and I am hacking away at my to-do list. The bottom floor of our house is let on Airbnb and we have guests leaving and arriving so prepping that. Our washing machine is down there too so I have four hours to do all the washing from the last week. Then invoicing and hopefully recruiting a new member of staff to help me with my business. A lot of different things to juggle but I like it that way and think I’m now ruined in terms of ever having a traditional job!
How do you keep the connection with your children? How do you help them to stay grounded and have an appreciation for what’s real and under their feet? In a world of Internet and immediate entertainment.. I wrote a post with some ideas of how to keep the connection and enjoy being together and outdoors more. Link is in our bio, would love to know any ways you do this? 💚 🏔
Because you cannot tame something so happily wild.
The Lord is my ROCK and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I thought someone else could use this truth today besides just me❤️ Psalm 18:2
So every day the kids and I sit on our sunporch and we do devotions, we pray for people, and we sit in quietness for a few minutes listening to nature. We practice "Being still...quieting our minds and bodies." And we always listen for God to speak to us. _____________________________ Today Ellie had a beautiful moment where she heard God speak three times during quiet time. _____________________________ The first one she listened to a bird singing and heard God say: "Ellie...do you hear the rhythm of that bird's song? Do you hear how her rhythm never changes? That is how it is with my love for you and all people. A love song with a rhythm that never changes. I will never stop loving my people." ______________________________ The second one she saw a dove sitting on our fence and heard God say: " Be still and know that I am God." _____________________________ The third one she heard God say: "Ellie, remember the Robin that made a nest for her babies by the back door? Remember how she always flies away when the door opens and closes? I don't want my people to be afraid and keep flying away in fear. I want my people to know that they can trust me and I will protect them." _____________________________ When Ellie shared all of this with me today, it encouraged and blessed me so so much. I asked her if I could share it with others too and she smiled big and said Yes. _____________________________ I hope this encourages you as much as it did me. I hope you go to sleep tonight knowing how secure you are because God is protecting you. I hope you wake up tomorrow with joy in your heart and a skip to your steps knowing that His love song never changes for you no matter what. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
