Today I went on the internet and saw someone who posts about how "sexy her idols" are and yea do that if it's what you do. Then I saw she was really upset about girls being sexualized in the music industry. Yes, this is something to be upset about but, don't disregards the guys! This person was fangirling about Key in a sex harness but then blew a gasgit when FX did the same thing...
Yes, women in the music industry do get sexualized alot and probably are forced to do things that they aren't okay with on stage but so do the men in the industry.
Everyone freaked out when a member of Red Velvet was uncomfortable in a short dress at an awards show but no one talks about how a member of BTS has been performing a song he hates(because he feels uncomfortable since it's a sexual song) for YEARS!
When a girl puts on booty shorts and a crop top everyone says her managers forced her or she's a slut. When guys pull their shirts off on stage no one says anything other than "he's being confident", "those abs tho", "he's been working out".
Now some may be wondering what's my point. My point is that; if you want equality how about treating everyone equal. Just cause he's a guy doesn't mean he's ok being half naked on stage and just cause she's a girl doesn't mean she's a slut. If your going to advocate for gender equality then advocate for both genders. Please and thanks this has been a PSA.
Sry for the long post but I felt strongly about this😅
