We knew she was in that grass somewhere. Splitting up, our two vehicles went searching. Suddenly, a loud crack from behind me. The other car had found a well-hidden Warthog hole... Negotiating a few of our own, we managed to get close enough to deploy our winch. Clearly, this was all too interesting for the cat and she popped her head up, 50 yards or so away. She can't have been too bothered as she promptly flopped back down into the sea of grass.
Rescue-mission over, we honed in on the patch she had disappeared into, to find her neatly backed into a shrub as a wind-break. A few yawns and stretches later she was off on an evening's hunt. Her belly suggested she was quite well into a pregnancy!
This time tomorrow I'll be back on Lewa, hoping to catch up with her and possibly her new brood.
