The story of Tiny Door 12:
Tiny Doors ATL has been working with Art on the Atlanta BeltLine and local schools to create a tiny installation on the newly finished Westside Trail! We're so excited!
At the core of Tiny Doors ATL is a commitment to creating installations reflective of their surrounding neighborhoods. We strive to create work that feels as if it belongs to the environment and to the neighborhood.
In order to expand to the Westside, we needed to get to know the area better and consult some experts on what makes the Westside unique. We met with students at Kipp Strive Academy and KIPP WAYS Academy to hear what young local residents had to say. After a short talk about public art and the mission of Tiny Doors ATL, we handed the floor over to the students. Their ideas were creative, vibrant, and unique! We are excited to share some of their incredible drawings and ideas with you as the installation date approaches. The students of KIPP STRIVE will be able to see the new location of Tiny Door 12 from their classroom windows!
The event is at 10am (so the students can get back to class). The event is free and all ages! Everyone is welcome to join!
