TBT to the 2011 "bulking" days. Looking at this picture now, I realize how out of shape I really was then. Ya I guess it's an ok look, but if I continued eating the way I was and working out the way I was; at some point in my life that shit would have caught up with me. .

Bulking: lifting heavy w/ low repetitions, eating foods not for nutrients but for a protein ratio. So that your body adds large puffy muscle and tricks itself through functioning in ketosis so to minimize fat build up (short term). .

If the focus is to simply gain mass. Especially if you are in your 20s or early 30s that's not going to be difficult to do!! Your in the growth stage of your life. But what do you do when that lifestyle starts to catch up to you? How much harder then is it going to be to get lean? To get in true cardiovascular health? To reverse your blood quality to be oxygen rich? To build your metabolism back up? The list goes on... .

I apologize if this offends. I had a major wake up call in my life, and have to share. If you don't seek a balance of cardio, agility, strength building, flexibility and even breathing and pure joy; and you're only focused on a look and mass. I promise it will catch up to you one day. Maybe not in the 20s or 30s but think a bit more long term. Look at the current health of the baby boomer generation. So much fat, so many medications. Look at the old school body builders now in their 50s and 60s; hunched backs and muscle bellies. .

Love your body, enjoy all it has to offer you. Don't become stagnant. Build real dense lean muscle, not puffy nonsense. Receive energy from foods that are truly designed to give you energy and vitalize your blood. You know the ones that yield the largest quantity ATP... that's true energy, enough functioning from ketosis. .
