(Swipe ⬅️)Yesterday, US Attorney General, #JeffSessions, went before the #HouseJudiciaryCommittee to testify that he had not lied to Congress about what he did or did not know about Russia & its influence over the #PresidentPumkinSpice’s campaign. During this hearing, one of our #SheRos, House Representative #KarenBass, took this moment to question Sessions about his department’s (#DepartmentOfJustice) investigating groups it identified as #BlackIdentityExtremists. (Quick back story: “In early October, the FBI released a report that dubbed the groups as a threat.“ The FBI assesses it is very likely Black Identity Extremist (#BIE) perceptions of police brutality against African Americans spurred an increase in premeditated, retaliatory lethal violence against law enforcement & will very likely serve as justification for such violence,” reads the report. Which leads to #CongresswomanBass questioning Sessions not only about the report but also ask if there were any reports on #WhiteIdentityExtremists. And that is where Congresswoman Bass snatched edges & presented receipts. Poor little #KeeblerElf began stuttering & stammering & conveniently forgetting (something he is known for doing). Now while I know this dragging will not result in Sessions issuing a report on White Identity Extremists because #WhitePriviledge but that fact that Bass called him out, on record, was satisfying enough (for now). Between her, #AuntieMaxine, & Senator #KamalaHarris, their won’t be an edge, ponytail, wig, or weave, left to be found. Continue to keep them honest & doing the work we elected you to do! #Salute #YouGonLearnToday #COINTELPRO #BlackLikeVanilla
From PBS News Hour: “Democratic Rep. Karen Bass pressed Sessions on the report during a Tuesday oversight hearing before the House Judiciary Committee.
Sessions said he believed there were certain minority groups with the potential for violence. He struggled to answer when asked the same about white groups. He wouldn’t say whether he considers Black Lives Matter an extremist group.
It was a tense exchange for Sessions, whose political career has been dogged by questions about race.”
