Building on from my whiteboard post with my business goal that I achieved, I also like to have a "To Do" list. The advantage of having a To Do list on a whiteboard is that it allows ease of removing and adding content, or even putting a line through something to symbolize that you have achieved this task. Having this whiteboard in my room provides me with a daily reminder of what I need to do, but more importantly on what I have achieved.
Too often we can overlook what we have achieved by quickly focusing on what's next on the list of things "To Do". I am guilty of this myself and have been working a bit more on congratulating myself when I achieve something and allow it to stay up there for a day or two as a reminder. In no way am I saying dwell on past successes, but make sure that you aren't too hard on yourself and appreciate the baby steps and accomplishments that come with your path to your bigger goals.
This past month I have been really productive as well as overwhelmed with a lot of things that I need to do and allowed myself some down time the last week to recover. I can feel myself slacking off again and now is the time to go back to my To Do list, start brainstorming some ideas and get back on track.
