Hot Wheels 1965 Pontiac Bonneville, West Coast Customs “Whips” assortment, circa 2004.
_ When this Bonneville appeared as a new casting in the 2003 basic line, I was thrilled. I’m a great fan of 1960s Pontiacs with their stacked headlights and prominent beaks. True, it’s not really a fastback. But the C-pillar looks about four feet long on the real car. The debut Hot Wheels version featured candy blue paint and tasteful flame graphics down each side and on the roof. But I longed for a version with no extra tampo decoration. The following year, this raspberry-red variation appeared in the higher priced West Coast Customs line. It features soft rubber tires, a beautiful saddle-tan interior, silver window and door-handle trim, and the West Coast Customs logo on the rear window.
