dead lift is something we do in bodybuilding usually at the end or beginning of back day but training today with big brother James @uaestrongmancoach who's a Strength and Conditioning Coach and World Amateur Strongman finalist was TOTALLY DIFFERENT !!! he taught me a whole new technique for dead lift and in ONE SESSION i was able to lift 190KG / 418lbs which is a heavy weight for me !!! Shoulders day- Giant sets routine to pump tons of blood in the delts, also great to conserve time. Proper pre/post and sometimes intra workout nutirtion helps shuttle all the nutrients and supplements directly to the muscle you are working, rather than just regular blood and leave yourself depleted & catabolic. This also helps my rebound from gaining 20-25 lbs right away after a prep diet, as your body is in survival mode from the stress and you make huge jumps in weight which for many is great, but being im heading to islands for summer I want to stay lean, I need to put a bit of healthy fat on but slowly, same way I burned it off in reverse. So- 1st giant set: hammer strength front presses, upright rowes, front dumbells lateral felt raises, front plate raises. I go 6 reps, 12, 15, 20 for those exercises back to back, small 90 second break and continue same, increasing weights- 4-5 sets total of This circuit giant set. 2nd giant set- behind neck presses, rear pic dec flyes, face pulls, bent over rear flyes; same rep ranges and sets as above. 3rd giant set- barbell shrugs, dumbbell shrugs, side delt dumbbell raises, cable side raises; same sets/reps/rest as above. Giant sets also help w joint relief and muscle rehab, after 11 months of training 6 days a week w only two five day breaks in December & march pushing max loads I need to rest, relax and let the body recuperate through summer, every year I start again I become stronger leaner and put on more lean mass, that's how the maturing of the tissue happens. Going balls to the wall YOLO shit will leave you destroyed in your30's & 40's which is not glorious. I smile hard, laugh loud, and play as much as I can for reasons or no reason๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿค˜๐Ÿป 4. I cultivate gratitude and unconditional love for everyone and everything in my life including myself๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผโค๏ธ and lastly 5. I take time especially when I wake up to listen to my breathe, feel my heart beat, and acknowledge My aliveness before I start the day. *

Do I have bad days and am I human? Of course but know that your allowed to and that its ok to of course. But simple reminders that you are in control of your life and you can change this feeling is the beautiful thing๐Ÿ˜Œโค๏ธ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ *I decided this was my journey and I was going to start recognizing its worth and living it how I wanted from now on โœŒ๐Ÿผ *

We met at #wwe tryouts and had great chats discussing a verity of protocols from our disciplines.
#
Today I had the distinct honor of instructing on different deadlift theory's and going through technical adaptations to his lifts!
#
we spent the first half working dynamic speed lifts, breaking down the movement and optimizing efficiency of the pull and setup!
#
The second half was no mercy, heavy ass 18inch block pulls on the Texas bar! I worked up to a clean 370kg/815lbs
#

The next session, it's my turn to learn, I love hypertrophy training and I know he'll have something killer planned out for me!

Following on from my last post about being nervous to start training in the gym and what you do once you get thereโ€ฆ
12 Doโ€™s and Donโ€™ts in the Gym
1) DO โ€“ Have a plan before you get there.
2) DONโ€™T โ€“ Just jump on the treadmill for fear of not doing your exercises with perfect technique โ€“ the more you do them the more you will learn.
3) If your goal is WEIGHT LOSS, DO โ€“ As much as you can at an intensity that feels strenuous in your allotted time.
4) DO โ€“ A full body resistance exercise routine.
5) DO โ€“ Favour compound/multi-joint exercises over isolation/single-joint exercises.
6) DO โ€“ As many (if not more) pulling movements as pushing movements e.g. push ups vs pull downs, leg press vs deadlift.
7) DO โ€“ Push yourself outside of your comfort zone.
8) DO โ€“ Keep things simple! Set your program, stick with it for a few weeks and work HARD at it until you are confident in itโ€ฆYES, you need progression to make gaainnnnzzz BUT progression can be achieved just by improvement of and effort put into each exercise.
9) DO โ€“ Ask for help if you need it, most PTs in a gym (that arenโ€™t with a client) will be more than willing to answer a question.
10) DO โ€“ Have faith in yourself!
11) DONโ€™T โ€“ Continue an exercise if it feels painful (you need to learn the difference between good and bad pain). 12) DO โ€“ Smile and be confident, give yourself a massive pat on the back for getting it done.

I love the grind, live for challenge, everyone always asks why/ how/ when will you chill... tomorrow's no guarantee so I'm gonna burn today down like it's the last with everything I got. You gotta smile and hustle through the everyday bullshit. The grind, working hard towards any goals you have is so rewarding, you like comfortable but can't appreciate it if you haven't been in some trenches. Pleasure is nothing without knowing pain, materials have no worth if they are thrown free to you, friendship and love and passion have no value without real struggles & obstacles to test them. Fuck what others say or do or think or portray... be the best you in the way you want to be and all falls to place. Stay true! Anybody can see some scumbag and say I want his cars and houses and boats, you ask that person would they want to actually be them, and they will say no. Think about what you would want to be if you could be, mentally emotionally spiritually and physically, those entities have no demographic or economic barriers to them, and bust your ass to become that. Everyone can say I want that persons shit, few can say I want to be like her or him though. ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ’ก- your head game/ not your social game or gym game or bank account game; your head wiring.
