One of the pitfalls of social media being a biiiiig part of your job: the haters. Whereas before, a hater had to really work at it + actually get dressed + leave the house to actively seek out puppies to kick + children holding ice cream cones to trip, thus deterring many of them from following through, they now have a whole wide world of interwebs to use for their hating enjoyment. And they can do it all from the comfort + anonymity of their very own cold, dark troll caves. Do I know logically + from experience that the best way to quickly + efficiently eliminate haters from your universe is to ignore them? Of course. But a menstruating woman can only be told so many times that her eggs are offensive, or that no one cares about her toast, or that her parenting sucks, or that she needs to keep her thoughts to herself, before inevitably one of the haters catches her on day 1 of shark week - at which point logic no longer applies. ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ Luckily, even the hater-iest of proverbial puppy kickers will be hard-pressed to knock this grilled chicken + berry salad. 1. Chicken: Marinated it in avocado oil + liquid smoke + turmeric + garlic powder + sea salt, then grilled about five min per side. Chopped.
2. Salad: chicken + sliced strawberries + blackberries + sliced cuke + chopped avocado + feta on top of chopped romaine + tossed with @primalkitchenfoods Greek dressing.๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿคค

What's your 3 must-haves in your morning ritual? Mine includes fruit, a hot drink, and reading material (though, this rarely happens at the moment). I'm trying to get up earlier these days, for a couple of hours (or minutes, mostly ๐Ÿ˜œ) of semi-solitude. Sunrise has always been my favourite time of the day, and when I get to experience it, I'm at my most energetic- which isn't surprising. There is a lot to say of the energy that the first rays of sun brings.

Unfortunately, this time coincides with when I post on Instagram, and as such, I'm posting much less these days.
So, my morning ritual/routine changes from day to day. I suppose that's a bit of an oxymoron... there is always tea and fruit though. Always. Some things never change. Some things always change. I'm just trying to balance the two together.

A healthy and homemade twist on a traditional afternoon snack โžก๏ธ porridge bread and homemade raspberry chia jam๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป
This jam is so easy and quick to make and so much healthier than what you can buy in the shops! I used frozen raspberries in this one but you can use any fruit you want - strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, etc! ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ‡ Of course, you can use fresh berries but frozen berries are much cheaper and just as nutritious!

You will need:
๐Ÿ”ธ500g frozen raspberries
๐Ÿ”ธ3 tbsp chia seeds (I used a mix of black and white chia from @thechiaco)
๐Ÿ”ธ2 tbsp honey or agave
๐Ÿ”ธ1 tbsp stevia (optional - if you like yours quite sweet!)

๐Ÿฅ„Stew the raspberries over a medium heat with a little bit of water until softened
๐Ÿฅ„Add the honey (and stevia if using) and let cool a little ๐Ÿฅ„Mix in the chia seeds and allow to cool fully
๐Ÿฅ„Store in a sealed container in the fridge for up to 3 weeks. I used mason ball jars from @ballpreservingau which have a great seal but also look so cute ๐Ÿ˜Š
