This is so funny and I can totally relate. I just had a job interview on Monday and was nervous, as I haven’t been in that position for a while. Thankfully I wasn’t hit at all angles and basically had the job before I even walked in. Regardless, I was nervous and don’t enjoy talking about myself in those kinds of settings much. But we should ask ourselves, who are we? Are you proud of yourself, are you growing and continuing to persevere? Do you have goals, do you like where you are and who you are? Be honest with yourself and make the tweaks where they are needed. But it takes work, you have to attempt to figure yourself out. Jot a few things down. What do you want for yourself in 2018? See what you come up with and use it a tool to remind yourself that you are evolving too.

Tip 9: 90/10 Rule

Don’t blow your entire weekend by splurging for two days straight! Be #consistant and establish good #habits to set you up for success and recovery the following day

Thoughtful Thursday continued . . .

If you remember last week, I was talking about the things we need to do to cross the abyss from where we are, to where we want to be. Once we realize we want to make a change, the first step is to figure out WHY. What are your reasons for wanting to change. Remember, this is your story, whatever your reasons are, they are great!

Next we need to figure out WHAT. What changes do you want to see. And these need to be specific. I’d like you to write down at least two. It’s not enough to say that you want to lose weight. How much do you want to lose? Is it that you’d like to have more energy? Maybe you’d like to be able to work out for 30 minutes straight without stopping. You’d like to lose inches around your midsection? How many inches would you like to lose? You get the idea.

Next week we will pull it all together with the HOW. Turning these dreams into some attainable goals!

Yesterday I was in a meeting where a manager was talking about the impact when you set specific goals, write them down and share them with others. I had a specific dollar amount I wanted my Rodan + Fields check to hit, I shared it with My leader and the past few months I’ve been close, yesterday I hit it.
I started looking back at what I took to accomplish that goal and i realized Ive grown my business 600% in the past year! I have had wonderful friends look to me as their leader and join, I’ve had new customers try products and I’ve had more fun sharing this amazing opportunity than ever before. The picture on the left was of someone who didn't really care much about her existence. Most days I didn't even care to pull myself out of bed or off the couch. I had so much doubt in my mind about who I was and what I was capable of. I lived my life the way I thought people around me wanted me to live my life and was really unsure about what I wanted for myself. The picture on the right is of someone who has decided to take control of my life. To take care of myself and decide where my future will go. I now refuse to sit idly by and watch my life go on some unplanned path.

Yes, I've been on a path to become a healthier me for about 5 years. I've never had results like this until now because of one thing. CONSISTENCY! This does NOT mean I workout for hours every day, eat 100% clean 100% of the time, never drink, and never do anything outside of a "healthy lifestyle". What it means is that I workout for about 30 minutes a day a minimum of 4 days a week (I try for 6). I'm conscious about what I put into my body and try to fuel myself with food that will leave me feeling good and not gross after. I try to drink my superfood shake every day for a little extra security that I'm giving my body what it needs. I have fun. I live life.

One of the biggest reasons I've stayed consistent is because I made a decision to become a health coach. I want to pay this forward. Being a health coach encourages me to share my personal journey, read or listen to personal development (which has changed the game for me!), invite others to start or continue their health and fitness journey, and recognize the people in my community who are crushing their goals. I've been doing a pretty good job with the first two but I have a lot more work to do on the last two. Being a coach has kept me consistently working on myself because it's my job. At my last job, I always had people coming in asking for vegan protein. Alright fair enough. 🤗
So I’d ask them, out of curiosity, if they had any health reasons for this choice or if they always led a vegan lifestyle.❓
More often than not they would say no to each and that they just heard it was better for them. At the same time they would say they really wanted to build more muscle. Hmm... 🤔

What many people don’t realize is that while plant proteins definitely provide nutrients that your body needs (when enough quantities are consumed) they are lacking in the amount of amino acids they contain, therefore they are a lower quality source of protein.
Your body also does not break them down the same way as they would animal protein.

🥛=superior protein synthesis

“I’ll Start tomorrow”.... then tomorrow turns into a week, then two weeks, etc. I decided to get back in the workout game! Feels good to be back at Orangetheory Fitness Davenport ! I love the coaches, I love that it’s me vs. me, that each day it’s a new workout, and most of all - I love how I feel after a good sweat! Rather than focusing on all that I “need” to do to get to the gym, I am shifting my focus on celebrating the steps that I overcame that got me to the gym.
Since Thanksgiving I have found myself “on vacation” regarding my workout routine. What I am realizing is why should I deprive myself from feeling good about myself mentally AND physically? What also goes along with this is how working out clears my mind.

Each moment is a process... Everyday is a process... What is something you have been procrastinating on? What are some ways you can start today rather than on the New Year?

Goals for 2018

Upper body focus today! So...confession: Im a recovering upper body day skipper 😬🤣. I always skipped upper body (besides core) because I didn’t want “giant biceps”. 😂😂😂. BUT after today’s upper focus workout that I decided NOT to skip, I thought “damn I should have been doing this for my shoulders and back THIS WHOLE TIME”. Welp..:LESSON LEARNED. Time for operation shoulders and back, my next goal 💪🏻. #whatareyourgoals ??
