Some friends who are trainers n PTs that I've only told "i used to be a lot bigger" asked me to share my story of a healthier lifestyle..So here goes. Bare in mind this is a background and are things that worked/work for ME....
I've always been a bigger person all through school til now, it wasn't til the back end of 2010 I really started to feel the weight I'd stacked on over the years. Joining a mates boot camps in 2011/12 made a huge difference but I solely concentrated on my physical fitness/nutrition and didn't realize the importance of a physical/mental Heath lifestyle BALANCE.
This bit me hard when a personal issue ravaged my mental health and sadly I let it take over for far too long. It changed everything, looking back I laugh thinking how quickly that voice in my head that had told me soo many times " I could do it" "I CAN" changed too"You're Shit" "you're not good enough" and a whole heap worse.
Last year I was asked to be a mates best man, a privilege I wanted to be in better health for now over a year on I'm back to a best fitness level I've been at in 20 years over time gone from 48-50 inch jeans to 36-38s, at my heaviest (recorded) weight was a massive 188kgs and that's a weight measured after a month of spin classes I could have been 200 plus?I really don't know but I'm now floating(term used loosely) between 114-117kgs a weight I was at 14-15yrs old....
Some of the things I did/do especially over this past year.
I looked at changing my over all health, not hinging the whole process purely on 1-2 things i.e. Weight loss body shape... I looked at this from all angles trailed n error'd heaps of different things til I found what works best for ME!!! And guess what it was?? The same formula that's been around since Maui first said"you're welcome" a good amount of exercise a well balanced, nutritious diet and a good amount of recovery and quality sleep on repeat!!! My train of thought was simple take care of the big things the small things will be easier to manage or take care of themselves.
Be positive, always look for positives surround yourself with positivity and stay positive.
Find a way faster then a but or excuse.
