After supplying a 4 mile long hose lay, #wt461 spent the rest of their 12 hour shift shuttling over 20,000 gallons of water. The massive amount of water was needed because there was back firing operations going on in their Division.
The last picture is of retired #LAFD Battalion Chief Don Stukey who is Division H’s Safety Officer. He is keeping a watchful eye on the fire as your #MVFD and other departments work. His many years @losangelesfiredepartment makes him a perfect lookout and safety officer.
07/22/2018 Water Tender 461 had an eventful day yesterday on Division H. Around 1100 there was a medical aid on a hand line being constructed. WT461 heard the radio traffic and that there was going to be a helicopter landing at their location. WT461 began immediately spraying down the area to assist the helicopter crew with an easier landing.
The helicopter landed first to set up a short haul system, took off and came back to the landing zone with the patient.
