[The Last of the Mohicans. 1992]
Based on the novel by James Fenimore Cooper, published 1826.
Mahican, their name means "the people of the waters that are never still." Also known as River Indians by the invading Dutch and English, the 'Mohicans' were located in what is now known as the upper Hudson River valley.
A highly romanticised version of the feud between native dwellers and foreign settlers, Daniel Day-Lewis was, however, a very solid investment as the go-between, Hawkeye.
