I began my pull-up journey back in 2014 and Iโ€™ve had a few ups and downs since then.๐Ÿคช
The important thing with a really difficult goal is to not give up. You may not get there on the first attempt, but if you keep coming back, you will get there eventually.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿผ
Maybe the time wasnโ€™t quite right, or maybe you had other lessons to learn along the way first.
I decided last week that itโ€™s time to focus on pull-ups again, so letโ€™s see how it goes! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ
Iโ€™m feeling tired and sore today, but thatโ€™s a good thing, right? ๐Ÿ˜ฉ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Everyone knows breakfast ๐Ÿฅž ๐Ÿณ is my favourite meal of the day.
And as much as I love variety and trying new things, sometimes I just canโ€™t decide what I want! ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿคฏ
On those days I usually end up going with a simple brekkie bowl of Greek Yoghurt, muesli and fruit or porridge.๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ
I always cook whole oats on the stovetop - it doesnโ€™t take long and itโ€™s easy to add some frozen berries, and a dash of cinnamon & vanilla.
Top it with walnuts and sliced banana for a healthy, balanced breakfast thatโ€™ll keep you going til lunchtime (without any nasty sugar crashes.)

This warm steak salad was ready and on the table (well my knee, actually!) in about 15 minutes.โœ…
Thereโ€™s lettuce, tomato, cucumber & beetroot with baked potato, carrot & pumpkin from our batch cook 2 nights ago.
Do the words โ€˜planning & prepโ€™ make you ๐Ÿ™„???
I know they are such buzz words and lots of the stuff you see here on Insta would have you think you need to give up half your weekend to get it done, BUT it doesnโ€™t have to be complicated or time consuming!๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
Small things make a big difference: like washing and chopping your fruit & veggies when you buy them.
Batch cook by simply making more of something when you cook it so that you have leftovers for lunches or to keep on hand in the freezer.
Cook a batch of egg or oat muffins or prep smoothie ingredients to freeze and youโ€™ve got your breakfasts sorted for the week.

Yes, itโ€™s Shrove Tuesday and I almost forgot.๐Ÿ˜ฎ
Luckily I had the ingredients on hand to make these delish, healthy beauties.๐Ÿฅž๐Ÿฅž๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ“๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒ
Iโ€™m all for indulging in sweet treats, I mean lifeโ€™s for living right? Even better tho when theyโ€™re made with wholesome ingredients.๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
These are so simple: just mash 1/2 a banana, whisk in an egg and then add 1 dessert spoon of flaxseed, one spoon of buckwheat flour and a dash of vanilla extract.
I topped mine with fresh strawberries, nectarine, blackberries, pure maple syrup and a big blob of @tamarvalleydairy Greek yoghurt.๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ˜

Not quite a #flexfriday,๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ but I wanted to share these pics from my workout today to encourage #midlife women to pick up some weights!
Iโ€™ve been consistently #strengthtraining for a long time, because I know how important it is as we age!
Some of the benefits are:
โœ… recharges your metabolism and reduces fat
โœ… makes everyday lifting and carrying tasks easier
โœ… empowerment/do it yourself - donโ€™t wait for the man of the house to get around to moving things!
โœ… preserves bone density - keeps your bones strong & healthy and reduces the risk of osteoporosis
โœ… helps you manage blood pressure, blood sugar and diseases like diabetes
The best thing is that it doesnโ€™t need to be extreme. Just two or three sessions a week is all it takes to feel the benefits ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

There was a woman in front of me at the supermarket today who was mean and rude to the checkout operator. There was no need for it and Iโ€™m pretty sure it set the tone for her having a crappy day.
I just donโ€™t get it, itโ€™s so much easier to be happy!๐Ÿ˜€

This cat spends time in our back garden most days. I first came across her a couple of months ago when I went out to do some weeding and weโ€™ve since become friends, even though Iโ€™m allergic to cats ๐Ÿฑ
We have a pat and a chat and then I get back on with my day.๐ŸŒธ
