Rather than worrying about what TIME you eat your calories, it's more important about how MANY calories you eat totally. If you prefer to leave your calories until evening, go for it.

I suspect there's a few reasons why this myth exists. One may owe to the fact that by evening time, most people will have eaten their daily calories. Therefore eating more after 7pm will lead to a surplus of ingested calories, but the actual time is irrelevant! Furthermore, eating late before bed can lead to feeling more 'bloated' which may give the impression the meal is contributing to weight gain.

In 2014 I decided I wanted to get "healthier" and lose some weight. At the beginning of the year I was at my heaviest around 125 lb. I created a diet for myself (basically no carb/no fat ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ), and lost around 10 pounds in a few months. I maintained this for the rest of the year until I realized I wasn't making any more progress with this plan. I started researching more about diet and exercise, created a new diet for myself (with carbs AND fats ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ), and started lifting more over cardio. I got myself ready for my first show in 2015 and then finally decided to hire a coach shortly after. Fast forward to current 2017 - more food, more muscle, more knowledge...better overall physique โ˜บ๏ธ

If you are starting a new journey and want to succeed, EDUCATE YOURSELF! You can have all the dedication in the world, but if you aren't following the right plan for yourself it could just be a waste of time. It's really hard for be to look in the mirror and see who I see looking back. For as many years as I could remember I've hated my body and constantly being bullied didn't help. I joined the gym and started to lose weight and was doing good for awhile. But unfortunately I fell off the wagon and now I'm right back to where I started. I'm uncomfortable, lazy, and turning to food when I'm stressed out instead of working out. I lift weights 5 days a week but as for cardio I'm doing nothing. I try to eat healthier and keep track of what I'm eating but I'm falling far behind and gaining weight like crazy. It's hard for me to post these photos. I'm reaching out to you people, because I'm unsure how to get back to it and where to start. The friends I had also fell off the wagon and I never wanted to lose all my ambition like they did. Any advice on where to restart would be wonderful really, and I appreciate it! One day I'll be confident and jump back on the wagon but within a couple days I give up. I've tried the 1200 calorie diet, keto and recently 1400 calorie diet.
