I'd like to introduce you to my friend Lexi (@fatgirlfedup). She's lost a whopping 298lbs 👇 since 1/1/16 😱! Needles to say, she's incredibly motivating, and if you're not following her already, you should be 💪

I asked her to write a bit about her story for this posts, and here's what she had to say:

My name is Lexi & if you're new to my journey last year I set a New Years Resolution to lose weight. At the time I weighed 485lbs & was a prisoner in my own body. I hated cooking, loved anything fried, was an emotional eater, and didnt take care of my health.

The first month I cooked every single meal, & I didnt eat out, have a cheat meal, gave up alcohol/soda, & worked out 5x a week on the elliptical for just 30 minutes, I took the foods I loved and made healthier versions. I stopped the fried foods & started eating lean meats with more veggies. I started meal prepping to stay on track at work, and saying NO to the temptations around me. Everytime I said NO, it got easier.

No surgery, trainer, meal plan, or anything like that. I counted calories, learned how to cook healthy foods, worked out, and fell in love with taking care of myself. I realized after that first month it wasnt a diet, but a lifestyle change.

There is no magic pill, diet, or secret. Focus on eating healthy and moving more - the weight will take care of itself & your body will thank you! Start today!"

Sunday's were always day of regret for me before I started my weight loss journey. I was a binge eater, and weekends always proved to be the worst. Whether it be drinking and binging on Whataburger at 2am, or just overeating at date night-I was miserable by Sunday. I would ask myself "What's WRONG with me???". It took a lot of discipline, but I have learned to make Sundays a day of reflection and preparation. I would analyze where I went wrong-but not be so HARD on myself. Then I would make a new plan to be successful for the week ahead. What plans can you put in place today, that will allow you to continue to move forward on your journey this week?

NON SCALE VICTORY!
Today I went to a local park here in NYC to workout in between classes. When I saw all these wonderful bars, I just had to try doing negatives on the pull up bar. AND I DID IT!!! I HAVE NOT DONE A NEGATIVE PULL UP IN 4 YEARS!

And it felt awesome to do 6 of them.

Sprinkled that in with inverted rows and leg lifts, and you have yourself a fantastic calisthenics workout.

MORAL OF THE STORY

YOU DONT NEED TO BE SKINNY TO WORK ON BODYWEIGHT EXERCISES.

Molti di voi mi chiedono come faccio ad essere serena nell'affrontare il digiuno intermittente, come faccio a mangiare "schifezze" e non avere carenze nutrizionali.
(Apro e chiudo subito una piccola parentesi che tutto ciò che noi mangiamo si trasforms in calore il corpo lo riconosce come glucosio. Al corpo non interessa se mangiate i carbo di una torta 🍰 o i carbo di una carota🥕 sempre glucosio diventa).

Il problema nasce quando non si ha una giusta integrazione solo in quel caso bisogna preoccuparsi di tracciare i macro onde evitare carenze.
Io grazie al cielo di questi problemi non ne ho e non son più schiava di seguire schemi, mangio quello che voglio nella mia finestra di 8 ore perché ho dei veri miracoli della natura a proteggermi. Non avrò mai più carenze nutrizionali (le ho avute quando seguivo diete e vi assicuro ne ho provate tante). Il vero miracolo della natura è il kefir perché va a ricostruire l'eubiosi della flora batterica intestinale con i suoi miliardi di fermenti lattici vivi.

this isn't as major a transformation but it's still credit-worthy because it shows the work I've done over the summer! I've literally wasted every single summer break over the years, eating terribly and gaining weight....until summer 2017 😎
I lost almost 70 lbs since the end of last semester! I balanced summer school, work, gym, diet, and a social life successfully!
I gotta say; I'm a little anxious about starting the fall semester as it's supposed to be my hardest one yet. However, my health is just as, if not more important than school, so I will make time for both. Good luck to any other student out there! You got this. 🙌🏼

I've had a lot of ups and downs through this weightloss journey and life changing actions to better my future.
I was in a dark place for a long time.
At 5'2 I maxed at 200 pnds in July 2015. I was in a bad relationship where I just let myself go. I could remember the feeling of my skin ripping as I continued to gain weight. Constantly shifting where I sat because the pain would grow. I grew tired of the mediocre life I was living and decided that day I would no longer just sit and waste away.
I went through some of the most personal months of my life filled with self discovery and heart break where I would reach the lowest point in my depression. I made a lot of poor health choices in the beginning, I became obsessed with being a specific size.
I lost 70 pounds.
Due to personal strife and a inconsistent work schedule between my spouse and I we took a 5 month gym hiatus from the gym to work on personal growth.
Fast forward to today, I regained 20 pounds and am finally in a better place both personally and professionally.
In this life I've experienced a harsh reality filled with heartbreak and confusion, I've doubted and put an enormous load of unnecessary stress onto myself but in reality we all do. All stories are different but one in the same we must continue and enjoy the road how ever bumpy it may become.
July 19 2017 I started back on the journey to self love. My goal is to achieve the dreams I've set forth for myself but without compromising on self love.
