🍩I remember the times I would pig out on fast food. Whether it's a bucket of KFC or a couple of burgers, fries, and chicken nuggets. And when I say pig out, I mean pig out. Like 8-10 pieces of KFC chicken. Or 2 burgers, 1 large fries, and a 12 piece chicken nugget. In one sitting

🍩After the meal I'd immediately go to guilt mode. I didn't weigh myself much back when I was morbidly obese, I was too afraid of facing the number. Oh but I knew, I knew when I was getting bigger. Clothes start to feel tighter, parts of the body start to itch cos of stretch marks, I knew. But somehow not knowing the exact number made it OK.

🍩"It was KFC's fault. I'm getting fatter cos of KFC." I'd think to myself. Not that it'd change anything. I'd just think it, feel the guilt, move on and do it again in a couple of days.

🍩Looking back at it now I realize it's a complete misconception. Eating KFC isn't the reason I was fat. It's the fact KFC was just one of my 3 meals in a day. I still had 2 meals to go that were similar in quantity. I think that's the biggest lessons I've learned throughout my weight loss journey. I learned that weight loss is about the "amount" of food we eat, not the "type".

🍩No one type of food can be solely responsible of us gaining weight. It's the combination of foods we eat, our net total that determines whether we gain or lose weight.

🍩And because of that, there's no reason to demonize certain foods, or label them 'good' and 'bad'. Food is food. Some have more calories, some have less. Some have more nutrients, some have less.

🍩None of them make you instantly fat the moment you take a bite.

🍩What food do you feel most guilty when eating?

Was feeling too anxious to go to the gym tonight so I did a 40 minute body weight workout that kicked my ass a little more than expected, but you gotta keep working to achieve those goals! We’re down to the last few days of @jordanshrinks DietBet and I’m still a couple pounds away from my goal but I am definitely not giving up! I haven’t always smiled like this.

I haven’t always been my perky, happy (slightly sassy) self. ;) I was struggling with serious health challenges, that I NEVER thought would get better. Ever.

For 12 years, I was trying to implement crazy diets, fasting for dangerous periods of time, spending hundreds of dollars on supplements that didn't work.

I did ALLLLL the things to help get my body to a “good” place.

As a result, all I did was develop an unhealthy relationship with food - where I would binge eat "bad foods" then get fed up with myself and "diet" again.

It was stressful AF and the funniest part -- it never did anything good, except stress me out.

That was when I developed a holistic approach to the ketogenic "diet" so it's actually not a DIEt, but a LIFEstyle.

I decided I was no longer going to be defined by my “diet” or the restrictions I placed on myself.

My journey was about so much more than health…. It was about finding my best self through health.
