#bodybuildingcom THE OTHER SIDE OF THE STORY ❗️
This is not something I'm used to post.
I've shared on this account my journey to my best self.
☝🏼But gaining muscle is not an easy task ! You need to bulk - lifting heavy and eating at a calorie surplus for several months. This is what I did from August, 2016 to April, 2017.
Yes, I gained muscle mass. BUT I've also gained fat - you can not only build muscles while bulking. And you have to accept to see your body change
⚡️It has not been easy but you won't grow without challenging yourself. However, in order to lose the visceral fat I inevitably gained, I started a cut on April 17th - till June 19th. Just eating slightly less, moving more, and trusting the process
⚠️ I'm not saying we need to eradicate all our body fat. I won't even go to a very low body fat percentage - because my health matters more than the way I look. Do it for the good reasons 💞 ✅

some days we eat foods we shouldn't out of impulse, other days we drink green smoothies and lemon water. You girls been asking about the struggle of feeling bloated and that time of the month. I feel down and just want to stay home all week , but I feel a lot better smashing a gym session all week👊🏼.
I actually should have posted a bloated Vs morning pic , but instead decided to do a 2 second transformation pic showing how easy it's to flex and hide the bloated tummy. It's ok to be bloated - especially during that time of the month.

Hey guys!! 🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️ It's been forrrrrever !!!!! I wanted to come on and say hello and I miss you guys! I have come to the conclusion that i cant just have this page for the highs of my life but also the lows and just plain normal times of life ! So here i am :) often times many of you have said one time or another thay you love how "real" I am. Well here i am on a whole other level of "realness" haha !! My personality has always been ALL or nothing mindset. I will have an INSANE amount of determination once i set my mind to something and because of that i usually end up achieving my goal. But thats where I struggle because I don't know what to do once I have reached my goal and I usually just end up quitting whatever it is i have been striving for! This has become a constant pattern in my life! When I fell off the wagon a few months ago I felt so dumb and embarrased to keep posting on this page bc i felt like a failure! I kept saying to myself all of my followers follow me for workout inspiration and i was being the exact opposite of that at that time! I realized I was putting SO much effort into my outwardly appearance and many other areas in my life were suffering greatly ! Believe me, I know eating healthy and working out is good for you ! But not in the way I was doing it or the way I was talking to myself. I needed to reset my mind! To prove to myself that I am a great person no matter what freaking size I am! So here I am in my size large shirt and size 12 jeans (ok maybe they are 14's) feeling pretty good about the girl looking back at me in the mirror :) yes I have my flaws but as I'm getting older I'm finding it's those things that make me unique !! I'm looking forward to my future and starting back up again with a healthy mindset going in. And not starting saying "you will be happy when you lose 50 lbs" because guess what guys it doesn't work like that !! Being healthy is not something that can be accomplished in a few months it takes a lifetime!! Sending ALL my love to all of you and a big hug and kiss to anyone who needs it! Xoxo - Sarah

So after last week I've decided to take on intermittent-fasting indefinitely. I got great results last week. The week wasn't perfect however, at the end of the week I had a series of binging episodes that were pretty crazy, resulting in a pretty big gain that was mostly water. I'm now back to where I was before the binge though.

I realize now there are certain foods I have to avoid entirely, because I just won't stop at 1 or a reasonable amount I'll inhale it until there is nothing more.

I went to the gym Monday and overworked my calves and niceps to near injury territory. Every time I take an extended time away from the gym and then return I always ens trying to up my weight level far beyond what I know to be too much. I don't think it'll be an issue in the future. The soreness has never been this bad.

A goal without a plan is just a wish. // If there's anything I know it's that time and time again, I am not in control of everything. I can try to be and I can tell others I've got my shit together but truth be known, God has other plans. Take for example my life right now. 🤣 We sold our house in 3 days without our next being fully secured and we move in less than 3 weeks. Dont worry, weve got that beautiful house waiting for us now! Two of my four kids are changing districts and the other 2 will be in separate schools. Hello madness! I scheduled skin surgery 6 weeks from now. Woohoo! Then, God chuckled and said - let's send your husband away for military training, you can handle the closings and moving and everything else in between. 🤣 I got this. I'm a tough chick... but secretly, I may be slightly overwhelmed. The point is I can't control everything around me but I CAN control what I put in my body. I'll stress out and probably have a glass of wine or a piece of chocolate... or three but by meal prepping, getting the rest and nutrients my body needs and making sure I work out so I don't completely lose my mind - that I CAN control. // 16 months post gastric bypass and I'm maintaining this 130 lb loss. It's not easy every day but at this point this is life. Not a trend or a diet but a lifestyle. I'm 5'9, 170 lbs and I eat an average of 1600 calories a day. I don't count but am mindful of a high protein plate. I also lift heavy 5 days a week and for good measure I throw in a long run on the weekends. Next half marathon is 5 weeks out! ❤

As I have upped my gym game I also have to up my body care. As someone with a rap sheet of medical problems doing the little things for self care can make a huge difference. Here are a few of my "go to" bath essentials. Epsom Salt, lavender oil, oil melt and a bath bomb. Sometimes I mix and match and some days I throw it all in 🛁

All three of these are smoothies. However depending on the ingredients thrown in, the calorie content varies pretttttty massively. Here’s the breakdown:⠀

1. 130 kcal:⠀
- 300ml almond milk⠀
- 1 scoop protein⠀

2. 296 kcals:⠀
- 300ml almond milk⠀
- 1 scoop protein⠀
- 1 banana⠀
- 1 tbsp honey⠀

3. 500 kcals:⠀
- 300ml almond milk⠀
- 1 scoop protein⠀
- 1 banana⠀
- 1 tbsp honey⠀
- 1 tbsp peanut butter⠀
- 2 tbsp flaxseed⠀

Now some people have a smoothie as a meal, others have them as a snack - and either way, that’s totally fine 🙌However if weight-loss is your goal, being more mindful of what you throw into your smoothies could really make a difference 💪⠀

Peanut butter, nuts and seeds are all super delicious in shakes but throwing all of them in unknown quantities can often take the calories up. You don't need to track everything or be over meticulous, but having a basic awareness will help you on your way 🙌 ⠀
