🤔Tracking macros in the "off season"?🤔

✅I got asked a great question the other day about if I track macros or weigh myself daily when I'm not dieting or in competition season
-
📚my answer is yes and no. On any regular day I will always try to weigh myself and track macros to the tee
-
🔥but, it's not something I let hold me back or become an obsession on days where it might not make sense to be so strict. For example, a vacation or day out with family/friends, I won't track macros and won't weigh myself either if I don't get the chance
-
📍there's a time to be strict and a time where you just have to let go of the obsession with trying to be so meticulous with everything
-
🙏find the balance and it makes adherence 10x easier

At the age of 21, I weighed 275lb. I hadn't weighed myself in probably a year I knew I was overweight but never did I imagine weighing so much. On April 5th of 2016, I started my fitness journey. It was so terribly hard. Being 21 and your friends wanting to go out to eat, I could finally drink. I would drink water and watch everyone else enjoy. Everyone in my family is overweight and have so many health issues. I knew I needed to do something. I considered getting the gastric bypass surgery But I saw how much pain my mother went through when she did it. I wanted to do it all natural. So I started waking up at 4 am and running before work, I did Herbalife and meal prepped. As of today august 17th I weigh 167lb. I lost over 108lb naturally. I'm so beyond excited my goal is 155lb. My plan is to be at that weight for my 23rd birthday in January. The first picture on the left was on my 21st birthday. Thank you so much for hearing my story!

Plain salad 45 Cal ➡️ 850 Cal w/toppings!
A salad always seems 'the healthiest' option. However, lately I have come across more and more restaurants where the 'salad option' has way more calories then another 'regular' option on the menu; will post about this another time :)

This picture shows just how easily a seemingly healthy salad can be almost 1000 calories; more than a Big Mac®!
🥗 Salad:
1️⃣ Just some salads, tomatoes, and scallions 
2️⃣ Added in 80g chickpeas and a small tin of Aldis tomato mackerel pieces (125g).
3️⃣ Added in 20g pine nuts and 60g avocado 
4️⃣ Added 40g cheddar cheese pieces and 35ml garlic/herb dressing (can you see how calorie dense they are?!)

My advice when choosing salads, try your best to control the amount of high fat ingredients like cheeses, dressings, nuts and avocado. I always ask for dressings on the side where possible. It's important to be aware of the little things that add up 😉
