WEIGHTED PUSH-UP... I've never been a fan of the flat barbell bench press either for myself or for the majority of my students. A good barbell bench press requires interruption to scapulohumeral rhythm - this may or may not be something to note. The Weighted Pushup is my go-to exercise. The Pushup is a dynamic plank, when done well.
I'm normally a little too self conscious to post videos on here of me working out or even photos for that matter. But I thought I'd try it.
I've always been told I'm good at push ups, so I thought just to make them that much more challenging, I'd increase resistance by wearing a weighted body vest. I really felt the difference! I managed to rock out around 20, stopping only around the end to adjust my feet.
WELCOME TO HELL! DAY 4 of my 30 day challenge with a 30 lbs weighted vest! I used to only do 3-4 strict reps with 30 lbs but I’m already nailing 12 strict reps so that’s sign of progression! Video posted is the final 20 reps of 100 push-ups. Looks easy but it’s not! Thanks to everyone who is participating and sending me videos and DMs for advice!
