Now you've probably seen this photo before, and all the comparisons of the "superior" mobilized german army to the outdated and weak polish army. Indeed storys of battles like "the charge at krojanty" have Polish lancers engaging german tanks and being wiped out, thats completly false. No nation saw engaging tanks with horses as viable, because there was an obvious advantage an armored vehicle had to a man on a horse. Nazi propagandists took advantage of battles like this, where armored cars positioned in the forest mowed down distant calvary units to display their superiority. Infact many myths of ww2 were propagated by the nazis and held up to this day.
However, this photo is a reenactment as it has little to no features of a colorized photo, the german soldiers appear quite large and resemble reenactors. However, this has not stopped wehraboos from using this to propagate the idea of the german army being mobilized. While indeed the blitzkrieg was an example of them being mobilized behind the scenes it was quite different; infact the german army relied on millions of horses.
