Social media...for me it’s a love/hate kind of relationship. I love keeping in touch with friends and watching their kids grow; I love seeing photos of incredible vacations, milestones, & I love sharing my career. What I don’t like is the smoke and mirrors effect. When you see the amazing photo of the gorgeous person, perfect makeup, positioned just right, etc....it ain’t so. Nobody or let me say, very few ppl put their bad days on social media. Life can be messy, beautiful, ugly and wonderful; and it can be all those things in the same day! So please do not compare yourself to those “posed” images. Please get to know you and honor YOU! Be and live your own truth! Another click on your photo, another like, another follower; does this change who you are? Do not put your truth, happiness, nor your sense of self in someone else’s hands! Your truth and sense of self can only be found from within.
The reason we struggle with insecurity is because we compare our behind-the-scenes with everyone else’s highlight reel.
