Congratulations Jeremy Perez: June Athlete of the Month
Jeremy Perez is a 6 year old whom will be entering first grade this year from Joshua, Texas. Born with a rare spinal condition known as Sacral Agenesis/ Caudal Regression Syndrome, he has been involved with RISE Adaptive Sports since age 4. Jeremy enjoys participating in many sports but his main focus is WCMX. He got his first chair a couple years ago and attended his first WCMX clinic about 5 weeks later, in September of 2015. Since then he has only missed one practice due to a school event. This April he was able to get a SCW custom wheelchair made for this complete with shocks thanks to a grant he received from Challenged Athletes Foundation and fundraising.
Jeremy received a "Most Stoked Skater" award from Life Rolls On at Venice Beach last July and was recently on the cover of the May edition of the local magazine "Burleson Now". He has won several "awards" in the Kid-Netics Games over the last 2 years, mostly coming in first and second in his age group.
Jeremy loves to waterski and play basketball as well as baseball, swimming, tennis, archery and track and field type events (minus the running part). This year has been a very busy one for trying new sports also, learning to ski in February and surfing in June.
Both in sports or in life, Jeremy has always been very determined and will accomplish anything he sets his mind to and make everyone laugh on his way to his goal. One day hoping to be a paralympian also.
Congratulations Jeremy, we are proud of all your accomplishments!
