“Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home.
I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.”
Luke 15:4-5, 7 NIV
I’ve read these verses numerous times, but it wasn’t until recently that the words Jesus spoke came alive to me. That God would search for us UNTIL He finds us! That word means He is not stopping and He is not resting UNTIL He finds the lost, but something that I read and honestly kind of just skimmed over is the part where He says “he JOYFULLY puts it on HIS SHOULDERS and goes HOME.” The most beautiful part of this whole story is found in that passage right there.
1.) He doesn’t make you WALK back to His grace, but rather He CARRIES you back to His grace.
2.) That He came and found you where you are, but He didn’t leave you where you are.
So, the point of this long post is that no matter where you are God will not stop coming after you until He captures you and once He captures you He will carry you back to the place you were meant to be all along.
