My beautiful Wilbur still visits his mummy every single day. I can’t believe it’s been about 6 months now since I took this little guy in as a baby. For those who don’t know Wilbur’s story... I took Wilbur in as a little wild fledgling wattlebird. He still needed hand rearing. Once he was old enough I released him from my property, a couple of days after I released him he was attacked by a hawk. I saw him with my own eyes get taken by the hawk, the hawk flew him to our fence and started trying to rip him apart while holding him in his feet, I ran outside screaming and the hawk flew away and I couldn’t find Wilbur anywhere, 2 hours later I heard Wilbur whimpering at my backdoor, he knew to come back to me 😱 the vet recommended to euthanise him as he was just a wild bird, but I couldn’t do it to my beautiful Wilbur, so through all my beautiful followers on Instagram & Facebook I was able to raise the funds to have Wilbur’s broken leg operated on and pinned by the top avian vet in Perth (Tim Oldfield) I had Wilbur back inside again for 6 weeks while he had a pin in his leg. So it’s especially nice that Wilbur still visits me every single day after all the efforts I did to keep him alive & well. Almost 6 months later and he is still so loyal to his mummy... or to the food I leave out for him 😂😜 .
