I took an imaginative run through some Parisian streets, this morning. Imagination isn't an evasion, it's inspiration. If I hadn't dressed the drab places of my life I wouldn't have made it this far. Visualizing different outcomes to what seems impossible circumstances is essential. ****
My daughter really, really, really dislikes most insects. Two days ago, we drove into the driveway to find a whole mess of dragonflies. Immediately, my daughter was seized with fear. We went down the parental playbook. "They won't hurt you. Don't be afraid. We will leave you here. We are not dealing with this." As I was getting out of the car I recalled my daughter's umbrella. "Charis, guess who will help you fight those bugs? Stitch!" She pounced on the idea of her large alien friend fighting for her. She took the umbrella, opened it, stepped outside the car and briskly walked in. Once she walked in the house she said, "I did it!" Imagination creates solutions to help in every way.
