Waste To Wealth!
Do you believe that there is no more waste? Every waste is now a resource. When we began this journey, we used to buy fertilizer, as for transporting them from seller to the farm, we had to pay transporter per bag. it was a very good fertilizer but it was not a sustainable initiative especially for a new farmer.
The more experienced Farmer who sold us the fertilizer happily made his money. Then we started collecting poultry waste from a nearby poultry for free until it became a highly sought-after 'commodity' and then fast forward to when we collected a batch that 'killed' some of our crops because the antibiotics was still active despite curing the waste for 3 months. Cow dung was no better because the cost of transporting it did not make any financial sense. Then we started collecting cow manure for a fee when it became 'gold'. Fast forward to now....... with our poultry waste, we are getting what we desire. We have no cause to worry about any unsavory content, pathogens name them, soon even cow waste will be ours. We make compost for our use. Hhhmnnn, It's coming together gradually.
Above all, these give us joy because we are fulfilling the vision to give you food that would nourish your body.
In a recent chat, a Herbalist mentioned that some of the pharmaceutical drugs fed to egg laying poultry birds end up in their eggs too and I shuddered but it's not rocket science. What you give is what you get. Have a most fulfilling week.
