Do you cook with beef tallow? Did you know that McDonald's used to cook their fries in beef tallow? ๐Ÿ˜ฎIt's one thing they were doing right, back in the day!! Beef tallow is a nutrient- dense saturated fat that has a lot going for it, including a good omega 6/omega 3 ratio, along w/ beneficial cholesterol and a high smoke point (420ยฐ F). ๐Ÿ‘ Jay Vilar of NourishingDC says: "Tallow is sort of like butter made of animal fat instead of milk fat." My new smoothie ingredient! Sounds weird, but egg shells are one of the best sources of bioavailable calcium. If you donโ€™t eat a lot of dairy, then you might need to put some extra effort into getting calcium into your diet. I learned from @wellnessmama that all you have to do is save your shells, boil them, and then bake them (at about 100F for 10 minutes). She uses a coffee grinder to grind down the shells into a powder, but I donโ€™t have a grinder, so I just throw them straight into my smoothie. They give it an interesting texture, almost like youโ€™ve added raw sugar crystals. Maybe not for everyone, but definitely worth a try!

Jun seems tougher to carbonate than Kombucha at first. I began adding 2nd fermented Jun to my main brews, before 2nd fermenting the whole thing again with a flavour and it works a treat! .

London is always so much fun, and a great stop over to stock up on things I can't get! So I went shopping at Whole Foods and Neal's Yard today... preparing for my upcoming Reset. ๐ŸŽ‰ I got some supplements and teas that I think are good for lowering inflammation and calming allergies. ๐Ÿ’œ I wanted some specific supplements that I'd researched, but on reading labels it seems like they all contain starch/thickeners and bulking agents that I'm allergic to (like rice or potato starch! ๐Ÿ˜ฃ) So I had to skip the Glutathione, Quercetin and Digestive Enzymes that I'd planned to buy... I had also thought about a herbal antimicrobial, a biofilm product like InterFase, Folvic Acid, and possibly pyrrolizidine alkaloid free Butterbur (for the treatment of grass allergy). I'm still unsure if I need them, but to be honest if I can achieve relief without pills, just with food, herbs and fasting then I'm happy not to take them! ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ Here's what I got: Gingko biloba leaf is a great anti-inflammatory agent. ๐Ÿƒ Vitamin C is usually low in allergy sufferers. ๐ŸŠ Zinc helps to heal leaky gut. ๐Ÿ‰ Nettle tea (contains a natural antihistamine.) ๐ŸŒฑ White tea (high in antioxidants). ๐Ÿต Oolong (according to the Allergy Solution book). โ˜˜ Herbal teas for my reset. ๐Ÿ’› Herbal toothpaste/herbal shampoo. ๐ŸŽ‰

About a week left until my "end goal." I definitely didn't see a lot of changes this time around but I'm thinking I'll apply a cyclic method in a few weeks. I don't know...it takes a lot to adapt so who knows.
