Because when you're a powerful woman, you're a goddess unchained. And everyone will have something to say ⚡️Here's how it goes when you're a writer: you sit for hours and think of everything and nothing all at once. Your mind forms a concept, a feeling, and in the work you sit and stew. But it's at the very end of the day, after you've listened to all the music and done all the reading and thinking and moving and zoning out, that that ONE LINE comes to you and shapes everything. The phrase "the goddess unchained" came to me a few nights ago close to midnight and shook me with its truth. "Because when you're a powerful woman, you're a goddess unchained. And everyone will have something to say." WOAH 😳 How many times have we, when seemingly at our most expressed and most triumphant, been met with critiques and criticisms? How many times, when we are struggling because we dig so much and dive so deep and feel so strongly, are our pains and fears and doubts blown out of proportion by the blinding and warped reflection of the mirror society decides is a good idea to hold up to us? Being a powerful woman, standing in your truth, is NOT easy but holy moly is it rewarding. We are all powerful, really - it's just that some of us get a little too used to the discomfort of the chains that threaten to hold us back. All this to say: I wrote a thing on WANT today about this and I hope you like it 🙏 "The world is reactive, so you must be proactive.
The world takes cues, so you must make your own.
I don’t want you to look down at the quicksand and say, How Dare They!
What I do want you to do is stand in the middle of the storm and exclaim with pride, How Dare I!" (link in 🔝of profile)
