After one of the dreariest Novembers on record, December choose to treat us to a beautiful Sunday morning. We decided to spend it at #hollyburn, digging snow pits, doing snow studies and practicing beacon searches. Winter exploring has arrived in style!
I enjoy helping fellow type 1s set goals and realize their full potential. I enjoy sharing backcountry and diabetes management tips, advice, and feedback to those who reach out. I love how easy it's become to inspire and be inspired by like-minded people. But, all of this stems from the one thing I love most: being in the mountains. #MHPassion#MHAmbsdr PC @realaworld
"From my perspective, I absolutely believe in a greater spiritual power, far greater than I am, from which I have derived strength in moments of sadness or fear. That's what I believe, and it was very, very strong in the forest." -Jane Goodall
A short 2 hour hike to Norvan Falls in North Vancouver once again proved to me the power of spending time in nature. An easy, yet true escape to this little gem is a nice reminder of how healing it can be to use my own strength to take me to places of solitude and wonder. This hike is an accessible, gently rolling trail with a great reward at the end. You can't help but feel grateful and small (yet mighty) with an earned view like this!
@robtam88, @eric_green_00 and I decided to head up the #coquihalla to try a traverse of #yak, #nak and #thar. We soon realized that the conditions may have been a little less than ideal...after a minor amount of #bcbushwack style descending we managed to find our way back to the car. At least we did get be occasionally teased by some great mountain views...when the clouds decided they were good and ready... 😁
I gazed in awe as the peak loomed before me. My heart beat faster and the moment slowed down. The rock doesn't care for minutes or hours or days, or even years. It only considers the ages. Standing among giants in the Shulaps Range, BC. . @2xu_canada#2xu#outdoorwomen#strongwomen#guaranteedrugged
A weekend adventure at #mtrexford, #chilliwackrivervalley with @robtam88. With a section equivalent to the Grouse Grind, packing climbing and camping gear in was just the appetizer for some excellent climbing. The West Ridge route is a great mix of scrambling and climbing leading to an amazing view of the North Cascades and Pacific Coast mountains.
📸 @jogower_ "Foggy view of golden ears peak." Thanks for this shot from last week's journey into the clouds ☁️ #wanderungca . . . Respect wild spaces and practice Leave No Trace // Always carry the 10 essentials
