J. B. BECKER. Rheingauer traditional company in Walluf since 1893
In 1893, wine-grower Jean Baptist Becker founded the traditional Rheingau company in Walluf. The Becker family led it through the turmoil of the time, mastered the ups and downs of two world wars and finally arrived successfully today, where the biggest challenge now seems to be fast-paced life. The winery encounters this phenomenon with its very own, extremely successful strategy: to give wine its time.
Dry and mature Rieslings are today the figurehead of J.B. Becker. Impressive Pinot Noir are just as much a part of the portfolio as Rieslings with traditionally light residual sweetness, which are also excellent dining companions. Today, after 125 years of tradition, in which one has consistently remained faithful to one's own convictions, many young sommeliers and connoisseurs of the wine scene are fascinated by the drops that often leave the cellars of the winery only after years of maturity.
The extremely long-lived Becker Rieslings remain on the lees for a long time - up to 12 months - and are bottled shortly before the next harvest. In this way they achieve a fascinating harmony and even after decades they still look fresh and convincingly mature with great fruit.
When wine applies to J.B. Becker's unequivocal principle: mineral fertilizers are always dispensed with and herbicides are never used. * In addition, strict yield reduction and as little intervention as possible. If at all in the mash and must stage, never in the finished wine. Because: "The wine knows how to help ..." In addition, Hans-Josef Becker works according to the motto that time is the best filter. Through long maturity without filtration, as was common in the past, the wine retains everything it needs to be long-lasting. Filtration is only for hurried minds. * 2008 certification as EU BIO grapes producer (DE-ÖKO 003).#jbbecker #rheingau #walluf #Germany #riesling #pinotnoir #areskonsultant #singapore #winesg #sgwine #foodsg #rare #limited #wallufer #spatburgunder #kabinett #spatlese #auslese #wine #wein #weisswein #rotwein #winerytrip #winelover #winetasting #wineporn #winestagram #wineoftheday #consultancy #foodie
