Can you believe Rosie still hasn’t found her forever home??! Rosie is a 5 year old Treeing Walker Coonhound. She loves hiking, trailing critters, car rides and napping. At 66 pounds Rosie is a big girl and is still working on learning to walk politely on leash (this is much more challenging for her in the presence of small furries- squirrels, rabbits etc) but she really loves cheese so with time and consistency she is getting much better. She gets very excited about small critters outside and like most hounds will sing you the song of her people when she spots one!

Rosie gets along very well with every dog she has met at her foster home and coexists quite well with dog savvy cats. She would do best in a home without small animals (guinea pigs, ferrets, etc). This very sweet, special girl is looking for that very special someone to help her overcome her fears. She is quite afraid of meeting new people but once she trusts you she will love you like no other. Her foster Mom is working really hard on helping her to associate new people with good things and that effort will need to be continued in her forever home. If you think you have the time, the patience and the room in your heart to help Rosie feel a bit safer in this world she will reward that effort with hound hugs ( she really does give hugs!) and gazing adoringly into your eyes, and silliness! Did I mention she is a very silly hound once comfortable?! You can find her at

"Surely you can't be serious."
"I am serious. And don't call me Shirley."

He did this every time we walked past this doorway in the Tenderloin. No other doorway. Just this one.
