Heelside jumping! Everyone wants to be able to jump the wake, and hey, who wouldn’t?! BUT, having correct form is really important. You may be able to huck it and see some success, but correct form will help you achieve consistency and enable you to unlock more high-end tricks safely and more easily down the road. Less is more when it comes to heelside jumping. Correct technique can take you higher with less effort. Today’s heelside jump tip is to practice an exercise I call Rock, Squat, Pop - keeping your toes pointed up (if not, you may be in for a nasty faceplant). You can practice this on the back of the boat or anywhere you can tie up a handle. It may feel awkward at first, but building that muscle memory will make your heelside jumps a breeze!
