Generally, I like to keep my Instagram a pretty happy, inspiring place. My photography is my happy place, so I don't like talking about anything bad happening in the real world. I'm not fond of long captions either. But this isn't about me. It's about the hundreds of thousands of people forgotten, left to die with nothing but their bones and statistics as a remain. |
We are currently undergoing the greatest humanitarian crisis since World War 2, yet the media hasn't said a thing. And that my friends, is the famine and drought occurring in East Africa. Somalia having it the worst. Parents are watching their children take their last breaths right before their eyes. And the media hasn't said a word.
It makes me so sad how silent we become when it isn't some wealthy European country experiencing a tough time. Where's the humanity ? My people, my relatives, my friends, HUMAN BEINGS are dying by the thousands. If we don't act, in a few weeks we will have lost millions. Let that sink in. Millions of dreams, stories, hopes, millions of souls mercilessly taken because we decided to stay in our comfortable, privileged bubbles. I may not have money, or a ton of followers, but I have a voice. And God damn will I use it. You have one too. We all do. We don't need the media. We can be our own media. Let's use all of our voices, and save some lives who are in dire need of it. [donation link in bio] #TurkishAirlinesHelpSomalia
