This is 'Sprinting' (2012). It's not a Gunther Von Hagens piece - it's a very realistic ecorche made completely out of wax by Richard Neave and Denise Smith for the Anatomy of an Athlete exhibition for the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Since its wax it's 100% inorganic material and there's no controversy over it. But here's a query: Von Hagens displays cause HUGE controversy yet after plastination those pieces contain 80% inorganic material - less human than plastic. So why do people see them as so controversial? Thoughts?

Someone sent me this image of a full body plastinate from China. You can really see the difference here between the work of Gunther von Hagens and this one which is by Meiwo Co. and has less elegant and realistic features. However, I love the bike! It's a plastic 'animal bone' bike created for Burning Man by Workman Design. It's called the 'Bone Bike' and the furry seat is a nice touch 👌 As someone who cycles a lot in the gym for HIIT sessions I swear those bikes are instruments of torture! I have to sit on my towel. Is it just me? I'd love to ride this round the streets of London though haha

Life is better on the farm!👩‍🌾🐴🌲🌸

Cross my heart… this is the coolest thing you will ever see. Right now @romtoronto you can see the actual, real life, gigantic heart of a blue whale! 🐋❤️
Jacqueline miller, mammalogy technician (above), and other ROM scientists worked for over a year with the von Hagen family in Germany, of the #bodyworlds exhibit, to get this heart on display. Definitely no small feat!
Head to the ROM this weekend to be some of the first people in the world to see this huge heart.
