Volunteering is more than a hobby for Cristina Capriato, it is a way of life. Cristina is our outreach specialist and success coach in Southern Arizona. She has dedicated her life to nonprofits, and is currently pursuing her master’s in nonprofit management. “I've been volunteering my whole life. My dad would even take me to volunteer when I was little... we would serve breakfast on Thanksgiving Day for families. In high school I would volunteer to plan the blood drive.” She draws inspiration from Mother Teresa in her approach to helping others: "Never worry about numbers. Help one person at a time, and always start with the person nearest you”
Cristina says, “As nonprofit professionals, we can be overwhelmed with the needs in our community. This quote reminds me that while I can't help everyone, I can make a difference in the lives of those around me through volunteering." “I've done everything from serving food to homeless families, taking part in clothing drives, blood drives, volunteering at nonprofit events (like marathons, 5k's, carnivals, gala's, telethons, and more).” Cristina is impressive, and is featured in this photo sorting school supplies for deserving youth with the United Way (@unitedway). We are so proud to have Cristina as part of the Earn to Learn dream team!
