It’s been almost one month since I left my old job for a start up and working from home. It’s been an adjustment, a tremendous amount of work and also filled with benefits.
If you’d have asked me at 20, when I was working in marketing for a company selling office furniture so I could afford a new surfboard, If I’d be living on a farm in Mid Michigan,I would have said you were insane. Though, as I type this, I sit on my ottoman in my tiny, home office looking out to our farm reflecting on the professional and personal path it’s been to get here. How I ended up with a beautiful wife, a hysterical kid, living on, and running, a farm in Michigan, while also working for a start up that works in voice recognition and artificial Intelligence. Just typing that makes my head explode.
Despite my best efforts otherwise, I’ve seemingly built a beautiful family and an interesting life. Without them, I wouldn’t be here, in my home office, sketching out a new product, chasing a dream opportunity and watching our chickens go to roost for the night, with the smell of evaporating sap through out the house.
