Rape has nothing to do with sexual attraction. Rape is an act of violence, hate and domination.
"We live in a society that blames victims and survivors, and which places responsibility on women to avoid rape, not on men to not rape. Our society sexualises women in such a way that all women are viewed as sexually available at all times to all men and creates the idea that a woman who refuses to have sex is unfairly denying her boyfriend/husband/friend/date. Our society teaches men that sex is their right and that women are fickle and often mean yes when they say no. Our society teaches men that they should pursue women and sex even when their partner is unwilling, because ‘a no is just a yes that needs convincing’" Due to a victim-blaming, collectivist culture, sexual assault is under reported. Before reporting a rape, a woman must think through very carefully. About who her rapist was and if anybody would believe her, in case he has a high status in society. About being slut shamed and called dirty, unchaste. About her family reputation and her father's honour. About conviction rate being low, so is it worth it? About future/current marriage consequences. Not about her rights, because why should she? She's impure now and lets all hide that so we can let more girls be assaulted, while we raise another generation of daughters hiding yet another generation of assaults.
(Edit: Men are raped too. Just because this post is focusing on women for now, no need to increase your blood pressure over it, thanks!)
