Thank you all so much for your wonderful suggestions as to what theme I can explore for my #sareeoftheday all next week.
I'm going to use many of your suggestions in the weeks and months to come, especially since some of them require detailed research!
But for this upcoming week, I thought I'd take an idea from my post earlier this evening and explore the idea of conflict/resolution/vulnerability.
What I mean by this is, that most of us have pretty set ideas of what COLOUR #sareeblouse goes with our chosen Saree. (Please note that this doesn't apply to the fabulous lot of you who mix colours and patterns with wild abandon... and do it so well!)
The truth is, the vast majority of us want to mix and match our blouses but struggle with picking appropriate combinations. So what are the rules? Does Baby Pink go with an Orange Ikat? Can I wear Brown with Grey?
Are there any rules to even begin with???
So coming up is a week of experiments, of colours and textures and patterns. I'm going to be wearing conventional Saree blouses (NOT cropped tops/ shirts etc), but in few different styles (neckline, sleeve length etc). It may go right, or it may go horribly wrong.... but I'm willing to be vulnerable to find out 😅
The photo is a throwback to 10 days ago when I decided that a polo t shirt was an acceptable Saree blouse 😂 With me is the lovely @agalyah_maniam who is a host on the Tamil talk show #vizhuthugal which is broadcast from the same studio that I work in for our own @vbuzz_hd English talk show. Bring on the work week then!!!!
