Marking 40K for a simple lad with a passion for photography and streetwear. It felt appropriate to chuck up a shot of me doing what I love and take the chance to say thank you for all the continuous support. I don't often get the chance to chat or meet you guys face to face but I am genuinely humbled for all the kind words and appreciation of my work.
I first picked up a camera taking a night class in film photography and dark room development at my local college, when I was 18, then life got in the way of I guess the things I loved, which I know most people can relate to. It was the loss of my father just over 4 years ago at 56 from bowel cancer which made me consider the purpose of my life, what did I truly love doing, not for the prestige or the money just for the pure love of it, what did I want to leave as my mark on the world.
I grabbed a second hand Nikon D80 and 50mm f/1.8 for $325 off eBay, still one of my fondest camera set ups and began my digital photography journey. Being self taught I studied photograph, read a few books Collins 'Complete Photography Course' is still the most practical and easy to understand for getting your basics. Ultimately I learned by doing and probably shot In excess of 200k actuations and counting, dread to think what my actual number is. I developed photoshop techniques from scratch along the way and taught myself basic website design, customising and writing my streetwear blog, finally launching this little IG account a little over two years ago. I guess what I am trying to say is this is the single thing I have worked the hardest at my whole life so it means so much all the support I constantly receive, knowing that something I love doing is enjoyed by so many people.
So thank you to all of you, for sharing my journey and contributing to my work and personal development. I am excited to challenge myself to continue bringing you the best creative content I can🙏🏻
