Last one for Ottawa. Detail of one of the Parliament Hill blocks. #Unicorn and #lion holding a shield on the Peace Tower.
The unicorn really makes me think about Spain!
Lion (England) and Unicorn (Scotland) are symbols of the UK and part of the Coat of Arms of Canada since 1921. There is a nursery rhyme about their enmity.
The lion and the unicorn Were fighting for the crown. The lion beat the unicorn All around the town. Some gave them white bread, And some gave them brown; Some gave them plum cake and drummed them out of town.
Ottawa city centre is separated from New Edinburgh, where you find Rideau Hall, by the Rideau River. The Rideau Falls, separated by Green Island, are where the Rideau River empties into the Ottawa River. There are several lovely parks in this area.
